The goal of studying and education is to make you self contained and able to function on your own. Eternal servitude to anyone except Allah is slavery, this is the reason why Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. called himself the slave of Allah. If you find yourself unable to reach a point where you can function on your own, than consider yourself a dog who must be lead around with leash and collar by a master.
