The goldfish was dead. The little girl sat and cried as her daddy - TopicsExpress

The goldfish was dead. The little girl sat and cried as her daddy tried desperately to explain what happened. Sweetheart, Sparkles needed to eat. You know how when your tummy makes noises when it wants food. And you get grumpy and tell mommy that you are hungry. Well, Sparkles needed food and when he didnt get any he went to sleep and now he cant wake up. As the child cried she wanted to know if they could give the fish extra food now so that he would wake up but her father told her that it just didnt work that way. When she got her new pet she was older and she made sure that Sparky had food and water everyday no matter what. Maybe it was the fact that she was older or it could have been that she remembered the fate of Sparkles but either way Sparky lived a long life. Oh, what a sad day it is when your faith dies. It is not instantaneously. It is a slow agonizing death. An ugly death. How could this happen? So easily. We starve our faith but we hydrate our doubt. Eventually, our doubt will want more than a liquid diet and we will invite it to the dinner table. What you feed will live and what you starve will die. We heard the promise of God. We started praising Him. We started thanking Him. We read His word. We speak His promise. We pray often. We put a time frame on when the promise will come to pass. It doesnt happen on our time. We dont pray as often. We stop speaking His promise. We lower our expectations. We start to wonder if God actually promised what He did. We question if it was really His voice or our will. We read the word but we dont receive the message. We pray a prayer but we dont believe that we will be blessed. Our doubt is gaining weight and our faith is slowly dying. Did you see when doubt started eating? Did yiunsee when doubt out the glass down and picked up a fork? Did you notice when faith left the table or were you giving doubt a second helping at the time? Get up from the table and bring faith back. Give faith a prime seat. Feed your faith daily. Make it strong. Look at your circumstances and say,Lord, I dont know how you are going to pull this off but this should be interesting. Praise Him when it looks your darkest. Pray to Him when you look at the problem and see no way out. Speak life when you see impossibility. Your faith will get stronger, your doubt will weaken. What you feed will flourish what you starve will die. What will you feed today??
