The golf course where I play a lot has a large population of Coyotes and Red Foxes. Last week we were on the third hole and I noticed a fox eyeing us from just off the green. My playing partner had put a couple of wedges down on the green while he putted. I looked over and the fox had a wedge by the grip and was attempting to drag it away. Me: That fox is stealing your wedge Him: What should I do? Me: I would take it back. Him: Will it bite me? Me: Probably, but golf clubs are expensive. You could threaten it with your putter. The fox did run away, leaving the club. Golf is a wild and perilous game. It reminds me of one time I saved a beverage cart girl from an irate squirrel.
