The good thing with political independence is that you get to speak you mind regardless of your personal wishes. You only have your conscience to consult when articulating, never at any risk of loggerhead with whoever that runs your thinking or imposes his/hers to be yours. The concept battle of ideas, independent thinking, fearlessness, objectivity, reliability in the political circles only becomes accustomed to a person when such a person doesnt bank on someone to define anything on his/her behalf. Every living being have ambitions both of stature or identity, however, when your ambitions seems to be dependent on someone to be realized, then such should be called opportunism, as they are inherent of anything. One day a young person my age who has been in the ranks of the PYA uninterrupted, will have means above patronage to shine without dictatorship of senseless influence, unlike those that speak or criticize after their handlers said they should. We are nurturing in the ranks of the ANC both as members and leaders, such should mean something to the fractionally impelled factionalists, thus we l lead when we want to and follow when we allow so, no one will have an influence unto that, even when we might be termed defiant and unruly. We have a responsibility to complement where necessary and contradict where we deem fit, never allow people to design for us who to associate with and who to hate, for doing that we l be adhering to our oath of the ANC. For whatever reason, keep your head up and never submit to what your soul despises
