The gospel, also called the good news was that God the savior of the Jews became the man Jesus Christ to shed his blood so that our sins can be remitted/washed away. 18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. 19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily. 20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. 21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. 22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, 23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Jesus sole purpose, was to save mankind from their sins. Jesus told Nicodemus that you had to be born of the water and the Spirit to enter into the kingdom in John 3:5-8. He also said that there would be a sound. In Mark 16:17 Jesus said that they that believe shall speak in new tongues. In Matthew 28:19 he has commanded baptism in HIS NAME and told the apostles to teach all to observe all things he commanded them. Luke 24:47 he said repentance and remission of sins was to be preached in HIS NAME beginning at Jerusalem. In Acts 2 it says 120 (including Mary) were in the upper room in Jerusalem waiting for the promise, the Holy Ghost and when they received it they ALL spoke other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. After this Peter, standing with the other apostles, spoke and said to repent and be baptized everyone in the NAME of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. He did not stop there, he continued and said that they would receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is to you, your children, all afar off and even as many as the Lord our God shall call. That day about 3000 got baptized as Peter instructed. Later in chapter 8, 10 & 19 the new birth experience happened as well. THIS IS THE GOSPEL. Paul said that without the shedding of blood there is no remission. If the God the Savior never inhabited the man Jesus Christ to die on the cross and shed his blood, we would never have known the good news.... https://youtube/watch?v=bcG8ygiLZZs
