The government has announced to felicitate the players of Nepali cricket team with a cash price of Rs 500,000 each in recognition of their extraordinary performance in the ICC World Twenty20 held in Bangladesh. The announcement comes in the wake of historic success of Nepali team which won two matches out of three in the preliminary round of the world cup. All the preparations have been made for the honour of the national cricket team, Minister for Sports Puroshottam Poudel informed. The Cabinet meeting will make the decision in this regard after the Finance Minister returns from his Belgium tour, said Minister Poudel. Nepal won Afghanistan and Hong Kong in their preliminary round of their world cup debut. This was the first time Nepal won the match against Afghanistan, drawing praise from all quarters. The sports minister expressed his commitment that the government will invest in an organised manner in order to make Nepal participate in one-day cricket world cup. He claimed that the government will complete the international standard cricket stadium which is currently under-construction in Mulpani, Kathmandu.
