The government has reduced the protection of the public on public transport by removing a dedicated security function of over 600 personel and replaced it with a new command called the Police Transport Command with 300 extra police which sound good in theory except they don’t have an extra 300 Police. This page has been advised that passengers are now patrolling their own trains due to lack of security, we have been advised of a certain incident where passengers have ejected people from carriages for making to much noise. There have also been reports of passengers removing aggressive and violent people from there train. This is quote from the Shadow Transport Minister “Passengers are taking patrolling trains into their own hands. Not sure how I feel about this.” contact your local member of Parliament and tell them the citzens of NSW demand a safe and secure public transport.
