The governor of Niigata has shut down any discussion of restarting - TopicsExpress

The governor of Niigata has shut down any discussion of restarting TEPCO’s massive 7 unit nuclear plant. His main point of issue is that TEPCO has not investigated seriously the causes of the disaster. TEPCO’s response was to offer a tour of the facility and to open an office to staff people who would work on trying to gain local consent for the restart. As usual TEPCO ignores what might solve criticism and applies more window dressing. Even as the company faces more insolvency in 2016 without the plant they refuse to take any real action on changing their ways. With newer revelations like the 2014 admission that the plant has been leaking considerable amounts of contaminated water all along and TEPCO knew it but purposely hid the fact, it could be TEPCO finds the potential of coming clean about the disaster worse than being unable to restart Kashiwazaki Kariwa.
