The great thing about critical animal studies, is that most of the main figures in this movement are young graduate and undergraduate students from around the world and not academics with Ph.D. and most of them are very radical intersectional activists!! In a way I would love CAS never to be part of higher education. A Scholar and an academic are different beings. I am still figuring out which one I am. I hope that cas never becomes co-opted, reformist, and institutionalized.
