The greatest misconception that I hear when people talk about - TopicsExpress

The greatest misconception that I hear when people talk about entrepreneurship is the love for money. With nearly 98% renowned scientists warning us on all sort of natural and man made calamities, to talk of Entrepreneurship as love for money, adventure and other success-failure fascinations are deep hallucinations. Its equivalent to misleading the whole of younger generation that are to come. Entrepreneurship has no connection to caste, creed, religion or nationality for all these are just extensions of an Individual ego. Entrepreneurship cannot happen in a corrupted scenario because Entrepreneurship has deeper connection to Academics and not just Industry and Business. Here in India when we mean Industry-Institute-Interaction, it points to Education that is diluted, Industrial business that is corrosive, and one cannot joke that both together will bring about a neutral society. How many of us understand that Entrepreneurship has deep connection to academics, a conglomeration of arts, sciences and humanities? Especially, in todays highly technological world, what capacity do our Industrial employees, teaching community and student community have in MATHEMATICAL RIGOR. It is not about a naive idea to make a mosquito bat by ourselves or to find out a solutions to farmers business problems but to realize the monumental man made problems and its totalitarian effect on human community in the coming decades. Unless, we have stronger mathematicians and humanitarian philosophers Entrepreneurship is highly impossible here. If we do have them, then connection and network has to happen between highly philosophical people and young students, which I call should be the purpose of social Entrepreneurship - Arvind Venkatasubramanian, Incubation Centre, October 06, 2014.
