The growth of podcasts (I do three weekly shows now) has exploded this year. Many say it is the new golden age of audio. I know I have never experienced anything like it. My three shows bring me more feedback and blog traffic than I ever imagined, and more connection to the audience than I had at WDIV or the Detroit Free Press or Detroit News. But perhaps the biggest podcast development yet has been the cult-like the success of the Serial podcastl. It has been nothing short of spectacular. And now, as proof that podcasting has gone mainstream, SNL does this awesome skit parody of Sarah Koenig (host of serial) investigating Santa.
