The habit of clipping the wings of girls is an age old tradition - TopicsExpress

The habit of clipping the wings of girls is an age old tradition spanning across centuries. It is deeply embedded in many cultures, social norms, values, customs, languages, dialects around the world. It is reflected in the artefacts of the civilisation that we create, leave behind for next generations to build upon. We are dazzled by awesomeness of our great cultures that we often fail to notice clipped wings around us, or the worse we take these as measure of greatness of our respective cultures. Hopefully with #Malala wining the #NobelPeacePrize more fathers will learn the lesson not to clip the wings of their daughters. So let us support this great cause #DontClipMyWings, by actively looking for the markers of wing clipping within and around us and create a world where all girls feel free and empowered to explore the world on their own. youtu.be/kmqF9Y2Yq1U
