The hemmorage of the ILP continues as another one of the partys local government candidate has left the Lyndira Oudit organisation. Ian Sieunarine, 31, who contested the Freeport/Chickland seat on the Couva/Tabaquite/Talparo Regional Corporation publicly announced that he was resigning from the party and rejoining the UNC. Sieunarine made these statements when he spoke at a public political meeting hosted by Caroni Central MP Dr Glenn Ramadharsingh at Preysal on Wednesday night. Sieunarine said he left the ILP because believed that the local government candidates were dumped after the elections and he strongly believes that the ILP was now backing the PNM in the lower house. In an interview after the meeting he said lyndira Oudit , the ILPs political leader would fail to make any impact because the ILP was standing on the strength of its chairman Jack Warner. Sieunarine said he believes that Warner backed off from the leadership post because he was certain that he (Warner) would be rejected at the polls at the next general election. Ramadharsingh said he ws gratified that Sieunarine had choosen to work with the UNC. Ramadharsingh said Caroni Central was getting a lot of work done by the government which includes the paving of several miles of roadway. Ramadharsingh said government policies would allow for persons wanting to practicise agriculture to get more lands to use at Carlsen Field. Ramadharsingh said residents of Cashew Gardens and those on communities run by the Land Settlement agency would soon benefit from millions of dollars in infrastructure work and would be getting deeds of leases for the property the now reside in.
