The holiday is over but someone forgot to tell the sun. It’s another day with rain in the forecast; however we are not starting with as widespread rain as we had yesterday to begin. But the Gulf is already moving in storms to south Alabama and more numerous showers and storms will fill in through this morning. While the forecast remains wet, location of the heaviest rain looks to shift. The past couple of days, the heaviest rain band have fallen over SE Alabama. Today, the heaviest rain bands may shift west into central and western Al. Accumulations could top out at 2 inches with some of the storms. Because of this shift, the flood watch has now been extended into our western counties and extended through Sunday morning. Dangerously strong rip currents are presenting a problem for beach goers this weekend. Be careful!
