The horror community has enough of a stigma to fend off each and every day without some pre-pubescent children taking a STORY and turning it into their life mantra or mission or whatever the hell they saw it as. Enough with all of the horror websites YUCK and this is why I dont let my kids watch those vile movies. Ive been submersed in horror since I was four years old and never once have I had a malicious thought regarding harming another human being. And Im not talking about reading a story about a stick figure boogeyman. Im talking about watching Evil Dead and The Exorcist before I could read a two-handed clock and reading Stephen King at recess. Horror stories and films dont make people commit horrible acts of violence. Just like going to church doesnt make you the perfect Christian. There are a million different examples of media being blamed for a sick persons actions and its absurd. Face the music- you are a screwed up individual who deserves the punishment coming to you. Dont blame it on anything but your own demented psyche. For those of you not familiar with the Slender Man myth except for what youre hearing on TV, there isnt a single passage in the story that has anything to do with Slender Man either wanting minions or an army OR demanding children kill in his name. Slender Man is simply a camp fire story that has produced creepy photoshop opportunities and Facebook memes for the horror community. Its a sad day when we are blaming stories and mythology for real-life crimes when the monsters we all SHOULD be figuring out how to deal away with are two twelve year old children who probably could have used more parental supervision. End rant.
