The huge storm hitting California and the Pacific Northwest is starting to move towards Utah. It is beginning to split and will arrive in Southwest Utah late Friday. Strong gusty southerly winds will buffet much of Western Utah and the mountains through the day Friday. Showers will spread over much of the State Friday night and Saturday...with a mix of rain and snow in the valleys and all snow above 5,500 feet...until late Saturday when there will be snow falling on the valley floors. In the mountains, an average of 4 to 8 inches will fall above 7,500 feet (locally more in the Central and Southwest Mountains. High pressure briefly builds over the area on Monday, then another splitting storm will impact Southern Utah later Tuesday and Wednesday, while lots of cloud will cover the North. Temperatures will be much cooler next week, but will still remain above seasonal averages. Dan Pope Facebook: Dan Pope Good4Utah Twitter: @dangood4utah Instagram: danpopegood4utah
