The human brain separates us from all other beings (animals) on Earth due to ability to project possible outcomes for the future. The brain is constantly running scenarios to predict the future, this is why the human race has advanced this far and will continue to advance; because out ability to run multiple simulations and make calculated determinations of what the future will behold. It starts as a theory and is proven to be true and becomes true, be it a simple scenario or a law of physics. Be it 5 minutes, 5 hours, 5 hours, 5 years, 5 decades from the present; sometimes we are completely right or kind of correct or we are completely wrong. This is why we become disappointed, we project a an ideal scenario and when it it does not become reality we can feel very disappointed. So it really sucks when you get stood up...... :/
