The human power of emotions is inherent to human existence...Humans use two different but interactive thinking modes; rational (head) and emotional (heart). The rational mind helps with comprehension, reflection and SELF-AWARENESS. The emotional mind is more IMPULSIVE and INCONSISTENT, yet INFLUENTIAL... This dichotomy helps people develop the certainty of knowing when something feels right “in their heart” as opposed to processing with the RATIONAL mind (head!). The intensity of emotions and intuition has continually guided mankind, where hesitation would be fatal. HARMONY of the emotional and rational minds help with BALANCED decisions, however, the emotional mind tends to OVERRIDE the rational side because it EXISTED well before the thinking brain -- (GOLEMAN, 2005 -- What are emotions for?)
