The #icebucketchallenge hit Camp Snooty today, due to a nomination from my rescue partner Janet. Everyone has their opinions over this simple little thing that has gone viral and taken the nation by storm. Personally, I say kudos to the individual who months ago came up with the idea, on a very small scale, with the intentions of people just bringing awareness and giving back to any charity of their choice....whoever you are, your idea was brilliant and I do hope that whatever passion drives you to do for others has benefitted from your ingenious idea. I have heard people complain on every level about this movement.....including my husband who lectured me about the amount of water that it is wasting (I thought he was going to make me stand in the bath-tub and reuse the water for bathing purposes tonight). What I see is this.....an opportunity to stop and make people think....even if its only 1 out of 10 people participating...its one person that maybe stopped to think. Stopped and stepped out of their comfort zone. Stopped and thought about someone else or something else during their hectic day. Stopped and made a donation that they may never have thought to make before. So, Im not nominating three people to the challenge.....IM CHALLENGING THE 58,256 followers of Snooty Giggles Dog Rescue to STOP, for just a second. Stop and commit a few hours of your day to someone or something else.....stop and drop a dollar to help a cause....stop and step outside of your comfort zone and do something to challenge yourself (challenging yourself doesnt just benefit you, because every time you challenge that comfort, you make yourself a better person to someone/something else as well)....just stop. You dont have to dump a bucket of ice water over your head to STOP.....but it will give you great pause for a moment!!!! CHALLENGE ON and enjoy this for what it is, participate in life instead of arguing it!!! ITS ALL GOOD UP IN HERE FOLKS!!!!!!! Peace and Puppies Yall, Shawn
