The idea that grace needs to be balanced comes from a place of fear rather than love. Fear needs to control whereas love sets free. If you are worried that people might take grace as a license to sin, then you are operating under fear and in order to maintain control, you will tell people that grace carries more responsibility or requirements than the law. Essentially, you turn grace into a law that must be kept. This is antichrist. Jesus is grace and Jesus only leads us on the path of righteousness. If you put checks and balances on grace, then you put checks and balances on Jesus and you are putting your trust in self rather than in Him which means you will end up enslaved to sin rather than set free from it.
