The impact that the outside world can have on training is overwhelming. As things such as financial woes, family trouble or job deadlines increase stress or anxiety the human bodys survival mechanisms begin working to maintain autonomic functions such as blood pressure, body temp, and breathing patterns. The primary goal of survival takes priority and the need to maximize training adaptations take a back seat. Training and working out during periods of high stress have a negative effect setting you back from reaching goals and performing at a high level in the weight room.
