The incumbent Greenfield Town Council President must be REALLY - TopicsExpress

The incumbent Greenfield Town Council President must be REALLY freaked out about his chances in this upcoming election. I have been forwarded a e-mail he sent to the president of the Greenfield Education Association asking for help in spreading the word among union members regarding the Mass. Municipal Health Insurance Law, which allows town council and town meetings to give the executive authority to change health insurance providers. The council refused to grant Mayor Martin that power last year, and, as a result, the towns health insurance premiums jumped by $365,000 dollars next year, according to numbers presented at the most recent budget meeting. Martin is going to requestr that power again this August, and the president wants the GEAs membership to know this his opponent, Isaac Mass, is likely to support the mayors request because Martin has endorsed his candidacy--even though Isaac has never indicated that to anyone. Wisnewski wants the teachers to take this into consideration before going to the polls on Tuesday. And, as a Sunday bonus, the e-mail was sent to the GEA presidents Greenfield public school e-mail account, which, last time I checked, was NOT supposed to be used for political purposes.
