The information below is to ensure the public is well informed on the potential impact of the County School Facilities Sales Tax. The high school and middle school roof systems are beginning to show their age and will need to be replaced in phases over the next five years. As the roof systems age, so does the increased possibility water will leak in locations where deterioration is more rampant after heavy rain or snow/ice accumulation. The County School Facility Sales Tax would provide the Southwestern School District the funding necessary to renovate the existing roof systems at the high school and middle school without raising property taxes. Coupled with an electrical system upgrade, heating and cooling improvements and new floor tile; this is another renovation that will ensure our students are exposed to a safe, secure and innovative learning environment.
