The inspiration for my inspiration has stopped teaching his classes. I was worried when I visited LA just a few months ago. I called the answering service and learned he was not teaching his regular Tuesday class. AND NOW I AM FREAKING OUT. Before I started personal training I had a dream of documenting the history of group exercise with ALL THE GREATS! That includes Jane Fonda, Judy Missett (better known for her work Jazzercise), and most importantly RICHARD!!! All of these GREATS are still alive! Of course I realize this was not the birth of physical culture, but these pioneers made movement accessible the general population in a powerful way. This article puts a fire in my belly. I NEED TO WRITE RICHARD AND CONVINCE HIM TO TRUST ME to document his life. When I danced in his latest workout video, it became apparent that trust is not given freely in the world of fame. So I need two things: 1. Someone with excellent writing skills to help me write a persuasive letter. 2. For you guys to like facebook/workoutwithericanix Maybe that second one is dumb, but I want Richard to know that I have peeps in my corner cheering me on. Heres the gossip article about Richard Simmons. It doesnt reveal much. For me its just a reminder that he (like all of us) will not always be around to inspire the world.
