The installation of SMART METERS is the beginning of rationing vital resources like electricity and water because as these public utilities are privatized and allowed to consolidate into the hands of global corporations----they do not care about human rights---they care about profits. Cuts to public safety net programs because of the failure to recover tens of trillions of dollars in corporate fraud by the Obama Administration and neo-liberals controlling the Senate has created a manufactured reason to pay down the national debt through cuts to these safety net programs. We will see all public subsidy disappear under neo-liberals and neo-cons as all public revenue is needed for ever-growing corporate subsidy. You will see people unable to pay increasingly higher rates relegated to only receiving energy and water in the amounts for which they can pay----2 hours of electricity in the morning and then 2 hours in the evening for example all controlled by these SMART METERS. Meanwhile, rates are climbing because private energy corporations did nothing to keep infrastructure upgraded and the money the public paid in water bills over the last few decades went to corporate subsidy instead. Here in Baltimore billions of public money went to building a global corporate campus for Johns Hopkins and for a very affluent Harbor East with the money paid for water bills. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF CORPORATIONS TO PAY WHAT THEY OWE IN REBUILDING THESE SYSTEMS AND KEEPING VITAL SERVICES AFFORDABLE. PLEASE MOVE THESE UTILITIES BACK TO PUBLIC HANDS!
