The .invalid is the alias of Edinburgh-based musician Seamus Bradd.Having produced music since his early teens in a range of styles (including powernoise, digital hardcore, trance, EBM, dubstep, IDM, futurepop and death metal) under a number of different aliases, The .invalid represents the culmination of all of Seamus’s experience so far, coming together to create direct, aggressive, emotional electronic music with hardcore and pop sensibilities, pulling influence from many other musical styles. Gaining recognition for tight production, catchy choruses and distinctive vocal style, The .invalid’s development comes at an opportune time, when electronic music is once again on the ascent - both with the ‘EDM’ scene exploding in the USA, and the industrial underground undergoing something of a creative renaissance - As such, The .invalid has shared remix duties with a number of diverse artists, including Vallhall, Controlled Collapse, Mangadrive, Mortal Void, Fractured, Cease2Xist and more, and has shared the stage with some of industrial’s most up-and-coming bands, such as Angelspit, Uberbyte, Faderhead and Surgyn. Incorporating hard beats, intricate and glitchy percussion, soaring leads, powerful choruses and any number of other musical ideas into the fold, Seamus will soon complete The .invalid’s debut album The Aesthetics of Failure. Eleven tracks long and well over two years in the making, The Aesthetics of Failure hopes to take The .invalid to new heights and be established as a recognisable name in industrial/electronic music.
