The keeper of the keys of the Kaba passed away: makkawi/News/show.aspx?Id=3243 Shaykh Abd al-Qadir al-Shaybi is the direct descendant of Uthman b. Talha, the relative of the Prophet (salla Allah alayhi wa sallam) who was handed the keys directly by our Prophet (I have been informed that he is the 31st direct descendant of Sayyidna Uthman b. Talha). May Allah grant mercy to him and to his family! The key to the Kaba has been in his family since the times of pre-Islamic Jahiliyyah. And no one has ever dared taken it away, since it was handed to Uthman, and his progeny after him, by the command of Allah!
