The keys to winning any debate: 1. Throw out a couple of straw man arguments. Nothing helps your argument more than misstating your opponents argument. But remember, this only works if the audience is not paying attention - or just stupid. 2. Rely on emotion. This is a classic tactic. Emotion relieves the unlearned from the effort that thinking involves. And, its just more fun to hunt witches than to sit down and consider the evidence, innit? 3. Make yourself the victim. A tactic usually used as a last ditch effort when intellectual defeat is imminent. It ties in well with step 2. If you do these things (as long as your audience is mentally lazy, easily riled, quick to judge, or biased towards your stance), youre sure to rock the mic and move the crowd. Good luck!
