The knitters of Point Defiance Village have been busy and we are - TopicsExpress

The knitters of Point Defiance Village have been busy and we are extremely happy with the direction we are going. We have changed our focus to helping local children and youth. We had Claudia J. Post, the representative from Project Linus, come to have lunch with us and tell us about this project. The goal of Project Linus is to give comfort and love to children and teens who are in a difficult time of their life. This is accomplished by providing new blankets and afghans to these children. Everything we donate will stay in Pierce County. At this time we have enough squares knit and crocheted for five blankets. Claudia brought yarn for us to use. The goal is to use donated material. The family of Ethel Matthews brought in yarn and fabric, so we now have enough yarn to keep us working for a long time. Her family also told us they still have a shed full of yarn to bring us after we sort through the seven bags of yarn they already donated. What a blessing this is. The knitting/crocheting group is open to anyone interested in helping children. We meet every Thursday morning at 10 a.m. in the Activity Center.
