The konyak Naga The konyaks are recognised among other tribes by their tattoos, which they have all over the face and hands; facial tattoos were earned for taking an enemys head. They are called land of Anghs. They have largest population among nagas The konyak can be found in Mayanmar, in Tirap and changlang district of Arunachal and in mon district of nagaland. They are known as woncho konyak in Arunachal. The konyak language belongs to the Northern Naga subbranch of Sal subfamily of Sinu-Tibetan. The konyaks are known as head hunters of northeast india , in ancient past, they were known as war loving and often attacked by near by villages of other tribes taking the opposing warriors as trophies to hang in the morung. The numbers of head indicated the power of a warrior and the tribe and become a collective totem. With the exception of these behaviours the tribal members community life with strict duties and responsible for every individuals.
