The last 2 days have been reality checks for me. Nothing reminds you of how old your getting quite like talking to your mom and comparing facial lines that makeup will never cover. I apparently raise both eyebrows ALOT and I blame the kids lol. This brings me to todays reminder of my age and how old Im beginning to feel. After much tracking to figure out which school had called I finally talk to the right person only to find out that its the annual meeting with Austins teachers to go over his future goals, education and his physical needs pertaining to his left arm and hand. Thats not the thing that made me have a slight panic attack, the meeting will be at the middle school this year since he will be moving to middle next school year. I know i say he will be in middle school next year but when someone else says it and its become official you have to wonder who you are and where that middle schooler came from. Im totally freaked out by this. Middle school is like the beginning of the end of childhood. It also worries me with Austin being so small and more like a 4th grader, I dont want him to be teased by bigger kids and the fact that he still believes in things like Santa and the tooth fairy really worries me. I was about 10 when I figured out about the present toting never seen characters that we all love but Austin has never really questioned it so being in Middle school and when he talks about what Santa is going to bring may stir up some teasing. I hope not I hope I am just being over protective. I am getting old after all bring on the paranoia. Ill just lower my brows and take a nap. You know how tired old people can get. I may go put on some facial moisturizer 1st.
