The last 48hrs has seen me pondering many things... not least of all are races and runs around the world that fire my imagination. A lot depended on how I pulled up after GOW... and although my back DID cause me some issues during that race and I DID seriously say to myself (many times) that Id never do a miler let alone Transpyrenea (because I am too weak in body and mind) but of course (as i suspected even when trrash talking myself out there) within 24hrs I was back to feeling more positive about myself and my abilities...(as delusional as they may well prove to be) So yes, Ive revisited some of the races Id been looking at the past few months... this 120 mile race in Canada is one that REALLY excites me and may be a lovely precursor for my attempt to be prepared for Transpyrenea a year later..... Or if not maybe Tushar 100 near Bryce Canyon instead.... Hmmmmm. I would probably be better going to Europe next (Australian) winter and train or race in the Alps there..... much more serious climbing (tho Fat Dog and Tushar does have around 9000m) but I have a yen to the USA/Canada in SUMMER this time and spend a couple of months running in some parks etc...and catching up with the many friends I have over there!! :-) Anyway... you can tell Im thinking out loud here cant you :-D I really should start a blog just so i can actually find these things in the future :-D But now to just get through Alpine Challenge 100 before my ego starts writing checks my body cant cash (apologies to Top Gun :-D ) mountainmadness.ca/fatdog.php
