The last day of the campaign trail. I wish to state here without undue influence, fear, prejudice and favour that I subscribe to the Agenda for Change school of thought. The change that have engulfed Malawi like a tornado. Change that have been accepted and implemented the world over. USA, Britain, Madagasca, Zambia and EU have young, energetic and able presidents running their countries successfully. Change that have been accepted and followed by Joice Banda, and emulated by Peter Mutharika as demonstrated by their choice of running mated reapectively. Change that has for the first time in Malawis democracy dictated the conduct of campaign rallies. We witnessed an issue based campaign free of violence (save for the Goliat saga and the Nkasa - Dowa scene) as opposed to charactor assasination. Atupere has demonstrated high level of leadership. He has resurrected UDF from the verge of extinction to a strong force it is now. He demonstrated to Malawi that he is a risk taker and that he is a principled person when he resigned from a luclative govt ministerial post to steer UDF into a might party. He never allowed UDF sitting MPs to manipulate the constitution by jumping the Primary Elections process. To me, and I believe to Malawi as a whole, Atupere has demonstrated to be a true Ambassador of the youth. He has appealed to both the youthful society and the old. People have choices and I respect that. But I urge you all to allow Change happen in Malawi, leadership and economic revolution is what we need. ATUPERE AND UDF HAVE EARNED MY VOTE.
