The last time I saw Henry Cow perform live was at the Rock in Opposition festival at the New Victoria Theatre in London in 1978, possibly their last UK gig, and I was with Martin Hardy. Looking forward to seeing them tomorrow night, again with Martin, although the occasion is sad, ie, its a tribute to former band member Lindsay Cooper, who died earlier this year. Along with Crass and Yes, Henry Cow are possibly one of my all time most personally important and influential bands, always loved the way they veered between utterly rigorous, totally structured and rigidly composed music that bordered on modern classical, then turned on a sixpence into totally unstructured free improvisation with no rules that often tipped into total chaos. Back in the day they were never less than demanding listening, and certainly streets ahead of what got labelled as prog rock in them times, really hoping they are still on form tomorrow - individual members are still invloved with some pretty exciting musical projects so my hopes are high.... https://youtube/watch?v=Vfpq11-sRVQ&spfreload=10
