The latest from Pakistan about the earthquake that struck Balochistan is that at least 348 deaths were reported and more than 300,000 people affected. Awaran and Kech districts were hardest hit in Tuesday’s 7.8 magnitude ‘quake which damaged 21,000 houses. Military and local authorities are continuing rescue and relief activities and thousands of tents, blankets, food packs and other aids have been sent to the area to help the affected and displaced. The earthquake, centred near the near the town of Awaran, was so powerful it formed a small island off the coast of Gwadar and tremors were felt as far as Delhi. We continue our duas for those who have suffered and pray Allah (swt) soon eases their suffering. Ameen.
