The latest issue of the academic journal Invertebrate Systematics - TopicsExpress

The latest issue of the academic journal Invertebrate Systematics (vol. 28: 32–115) contains a large study by 20 authors of the Bivalve Tree-of-Life (bivatol.org) team, with PRIs Paula Mikkelsen as second author. The article, entitled Investigating the Bivalve Tree of Life – an exemplar-based approach combining molecular and novel morphological characters presents a phylogeny of bivalved mollusks based on in-depth study of 103 species spanning the breadth of bivalve families. The work was the result of a multinational, multi-institutional National Science Foundation grant, now in its 7th year. PRI was one of three collaborative grants, and also managed the outreach products of the project, including The Teacher-Friendly Guide to Evolution and the exhibition Science on the Halfshell: How and Why We Study Evolution. The paper has open electronic access [publish.csiro.au/?nid=120], with the underlying data available via Morphobank (Project 790) and GenBank.
