The laws of attraction, are a set of scientific laws that were based off of the laws of affinity, or likeness of the natural elements- earth to earth, water to water… With the creation of the laws of affinity, Plato expanded on Empedocles concepts of philia-attraction, and neikos-repulsion. The Greeks were also aware that, from a magnetic perspective, opposites attract and likes repel. Scientifically speaking, the laws of attraction yield certain contradictions. Regarding the power of our belief, the law of attraction, though not scientifically proven, seems to contain more validity. Thomas Troward, proclaimed in a 1904 lecture that, the action of Mind plants that nucleus which, if allowed to grow undisturbed, will eventually attract to itself all the conditions necessary for its manifestation in outward visible form. Theres also the law of attraction belief system of Abraham, the name given to the self proclaimed, group consciousness from the non-physical dimension. Abraham was originally channeled through Esther and Jerry Hicks. Then theres the book and movie by Rhonda Byrne, The Secret, 2006, which has been very influential in the modern law of attraction movement. Theres evidence for the power of belief, through conscious intent, that scientific studies have revealed. In a series of quantum double slit experiments, participants were shown to cause fluctuations in quantum wave forms. As the participants were instructed to focus their attention on the wave forms, measurable variation occurred. Its clearly evident, that theres certain mechanism of thought that effect or manipulate reality. It will be interesting to see what unfolds as future experiments and research are conducted.
