The left is the original photo of my grandfather Baba Oon Beng Leong circa 1938. The original photo is not in good condition with tears, scratches and bends but with technology these days, I was able to revive the photo on the right and cleared all the blemishes. I never got to know my grandfather because he passed away in 1955 but at least from repairing the photo I spent some time with him. Do you have any Peranakan-related photographs like this? Do consider contributing your scanned photos to our effort in putting a book of photographs together and perhaps save these old photos and our heritage.
