The library has so many people to be thankful for- people who donate their time, energy and talents. I cant even begin to put together a complete list- but I dont want that to keep me from saying thanks to the ones that pop into my head. So here goes..... Board members who are true public servants, receiving zero compensation or reimbursement; All the artists who display their talents in the Drew Gallery; The Friends of Niles District Library who run our book sales; The Daughters of the American Revolution and the Friends of Silver brook Cemetary for supporting our local history and genealogy programs; The Niles Drama Club and the Niles Service League for helping out with our annual costume contest; United Way of Southwest Michigan and Rob Burgess for making the free income tax preparation program happen; Nancy Drew for many small, lovely, thoughtful gifts; Michael who brings in a box of treats for the staff almost every week; NAACP for helping make our annual African American History Month celebration a success; Abby and Mady for helping out all summer long with our Math and Reading Camp; Jan at Salvation Army and the folks at SCORE of South Bend for providing training for our annual staff development day; Miss Niles and her Court for helping with programs; Best Friends 4H Club, Boy Scout Troop 579, Country Clovers 4-H Club, Michigan State Police K-9 Unit, Human Society of Southwestern Michigan, FurEver Fosters and others who helped with Puppapalooza; There are soooo many more! Happy Thanksgiving to all!
