The life of Joseph reveals that honor often comes from complete strangers than from immediate family. Even Jesus’ worst rejection came from his own people. (John 1:11) Don’t be surprised when people that should celebrate your successes plan for your fall. The thought of seeing Joseph’s dreams come true caused his brothers to boil with vicious anger, envy & jealousy. It took a complete stranger to recognize the blessedness of Joseph’s life. It took a complete stranger to recognize Joseph’s unique gifts. It took a complete stranger to honor Joseph with a position of great honor. Don’t be discouraged when close friends & family take you for granted; when they dishonor & disrespect you; when they downplay or ignore your accomplishments. Stay humble. Regardless of their hate, jealousy & envy; the same God who uplifted Joseph will lift you up. Remain faithful. God will prepare a table before you in the presence of your enemies. (Psalm 23:5) Only believe!
