The little boy Westie didnt seem well yesterday, he was not eating and I decided he would have to go to the vets for a check up. So I gave him a clean up and clipped some of his matted hair before he went. The hair around his neck was matted and black, seemingly with whatever filth he had been lying in. Imagine my shock and horror when I went to part it to find blood and pus pour out of his hair. The emergency vet said he had never seen anything like it before. The poor boy had been both slashed and stabbed in his neck area, (and he said the injuries were NOT caused by another dog). The slash wound is more than 3 inches across, and one of the stab wounds is very deep. All are infected and it is touch and go for him, hes on two antibiotics and the wounds are cleaned to the best of the vets ability. Please say a little prayer that he will recover, hes an older boy 8-9 and not at all well tonight :(
