The long form of my article on the deaths of JFK, Lewis and Huxley – on the same day 50 years ago – is now published in The Daily Beast. It brings in a great deal of fascinating material that couldnt be shoehorned into the original Oxford Today version (a quarter the length). Based partly on extensive interviews with Planet Narnia author Michael Ward, Huxley biographer Nicholas Murray and journalist/historian Godfrey Hodgson – who covered the assassination from Washington DC – it explores their relationships with life, death, and the afterlife.
