The longing for what God has promised must never replace the God who made the promise. When that occurs God’s provision can only be found at a painful place where intellectual, emotional and spiritual surrender converge upon one emptying act of obedience. “Then he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. 11 But the angel of the Lord called out to him from heaven, “Abraham!
