The lunacy of deep green ecology: I watched an anarch-primitivist who I really admire YouTube make a very interesting assertion, which others might think is crazy but if you really think about it it makes a lot of sense. She said that gardening is holding the plants in slavery, because you are placing the seeds in places they did not choose to be in, and making the plants dependent on you for their survival. She also talked about how, by breeding seedless plants, you are violating their rights because you are taking away their right to reproduce. She was not saying there was anything wrong with eating of course, since we need food to survive, but her point was that we need to respect the food we eat by being thankful for it and recognize that we violated its rights in order to survive. Edit: just to clarify, as I think there might have been some confusion, I wasnt saying I thought she was crazy, I agree with what she said. What I meant was that the majority of society might think people like us our crazy, but thats because theyve been brainwashed.
