The magical chest holding the soul of the lich, though heavily damaged in the fighting, ebbs with power and melds itself with the stone and soil of the graveyard in which it was placed. A hushed darkness falls on the hill and silence reins supreme. Rot and decay begin to spread out from the chest, slowly corrupting everything it touches.
