The main reason we started this page was so that we could share pictures and stories of Kristina and to let everyone know about all of the events we will be holding to raise money for the Kristina Chesterman Memorial Foundation. Another reason we have this site is to keep people updated on the case against the (alleged) drunk driver that killed our sweet Kristina, Riley Hoover. For reasons that I dont understand, Riley Hoover has been given a do over preliminary hearing in front of a different judge at Butte County Superior Court. Even though we already spent a grueling day (from 9am until 5:45pm) in front of a judge listening to all of the horrific details about how Kristina was hit and how she died and what she looked like, details no parent should ever have to sit through once, never mind twice! In the first preliminary hearing it was ruled that no evidence be suppressed and all charges would stay even adding two more felonies for money laundering. I guess he didnt like the outcome. How is this fair? Kristina doesnt get a do over. I feel as though our family keeps getting victimized by the very system that is designed to protect us and seek justice. We look forward to the day that we can put Riley Hoover out of our thoughts and focus on our memories of Kristina and continue to honor her in the way she would be proud of and the way she deserves to be honored. The new hearing is set for June 10th. I will keep you all updated. Thank you for your continued support throughout this horrific ordeal.
