The majority of Kenyans suffer from drought and famine, and are completely cut off from the rest of the country. Drought and famine in many parts of the country has led to destruction of greenplain forest, which were rich in plant and animal species, during whichTarda and other irrigation schemes were operative in the country. Large plastic canisters filled with the brownish water from the reservoir are trapped to childrens forehead as they wind their way under a torching sun through thorny scrubs to their homes. Their mothers spend much of their time walking through shadeless trees searching for firewoods. Poverty and distitutions, penury and need touched their own dear selves. Painful as it is, our President is traveling from state to state, claiming that his government will distribute laptops to the schools. This are people who are in an argent need of food, water and housing, experiencing the worse humanitarian crises in human history. When i pointed out this issue on Uhuru Kenyattas facebook page, the initial response from my fellow Kenyan citizens were: HOW CAN YOU ADRESS THE PRESIDENT IN SUCH A FASHION While others turned the whole thing into a joke: NI FALA MUNAMLETA STATE HOUSE The Fala they were referring to was me who, according to them, has put himself or deprived the President from his elected position. You get tired of rituals of explaining to seemingly ignorant interlocutors that theres a difference between adressing the president and criticizing him, or his leadership which to many, both were the worse case scnerios. My surprise that the country i left 10 year ago is not yet democratic, was surpassed by the fact that my own people are still backward and irrationale Kenya is a rich country and current an East and central Africas leading economy, but the countries income ends in wrong hands. Im pleased to learn that Uhuru has started a website to stop and report corruption directly to him, but as a concerned citizen myself, i must state that Uhurus way of leading the country at the moment, is to develope his powerful Kikuyu and Munginki communties who are controlling 60% of countries economy, and who have access to electricity, food, water and their children are attending the countries pristigious schools: the laptops and computors are for them, not for poor and starving Kenyans.
