The mark of our species is intelligence. Epictetus stated, The mark is not set for the purpose of missing aim. We get to be intelligent, no exceptions, and no excuses. You cannot admit detriment and/or omit benefit and call yourself intelligent. Nor can you allow worse to prevail over better. Intelligence is surprisingly easy to figure out. It is equally easy to understand that you have a right to the volition of your will. And that, you must consent to limitation, when the volition of your will impacts the volition of life for any other living thing. Education, wealth and social impunity create complexities whereby simple intelligence becomes inadmissible. This cannot be allowed to continue.
