The measure of how much we love our children is how much we can let go. The measure of how much we love our spouses is how much we can be one. In our family each generation came 30 years after the previous. My grandparents were born in the 1900. My parents around 25-30 years after, say 1930. Me and my wife around 30 years after, say 1960. My children were born another 30 years after, say 1990. It is now 2015, 5 more years before 2020, the milestone of the next 30 years. We had a family meeting and I gave my children my blessing to go their ways when they are ready, and that they will always be welcome in our home anytime and whatever the case may be. I also told them, it is time for me and my wife to prepare for the last 30 years (if we are lucky) of our lives. Moreso, be ready the life after death.
