The media portrayed Mike Brown as a thug, with no record. They tried their best to use the fact that he stole some cigars as a reasonable reason for him being shot six times while unarmed by officer Wilson. They tried their best to dehumanize him. They highlighted the Marijuana in his system as if that was a justifiable excuse for him to be gunned down in broad daylight. Then you have the washington high school shooter. All you hear from the media is how good of a student he was. And how popular he was. They show him in the most flattering of images, so that the masses feel sorry for him. They want you to take pity on him, eventhough he has killed 2 people and severely wounded several others. For every story they report about the victims and their anguish, they turn around and report about how GOOD of a kid he was. How sweet and nice he was. I cant be the only person whos noticed not only the racial differences in how the media reports on situations, but also the financial classism that the media tends to sway public emotions on.
